Subham Working Women Hostel

The Guild of service have been running Shubham since 1986 Over four decades ago approximately 2080 girls have stayed with us. The hostel is specially run as a home away from home for the large numbers of the girls.

A sense of home is maintained due to the continuity of our staff that has been with us for over two decades. This helps them to understand the special needs of each of our residents.

The hostel is totally managed by women volunteers of the Guild and run by a predominantly women staff.

 Lodging facilities

The hostel has capacity for 100 girls. All rooms are airy and well ventilated with big windows and some rooms with an extra balcony space

A-Single rooms with window air conditioners

B-Double rooms with window air conditioners

C-Three seaters with window air conditioners

D-Four bedded well ventilated rooms without air conditioning.

( All rooms have ceiling fans, beds tables and chairs and mattresses .Residents need to bring their own bed linen and curtains if needed )

Boarding facilities

It is compulsory for the girls to have their meals in the premises.Food from outside is not encouraged. Consumption of alcohol and substance abuse is strictly forbidden. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms or in the common areas as the Guild strongly advocates zero tobacco policy

Our meals are vegetarians and similar to home cooked food. Timings are as follows:

Breakfast. 7,30 am to 9.30 am

Lunch--- Packed lunch is provided

Tea---- at 5 to 6 pm.

Dinner--- 8pm to 9.30 pm

Meals are based on multi cuisines: North Indian, South Indian, Chinese and Continental

Visitors

Men are not allowed inside hostel premises. However they are allowed in the office premises. Women visitors are not allowed beyond 7.00 pm. If they stay beyond they will be charged the guest fee of Rs 1000/-. 

Security

For security purposes all residents sign their coming in and going out timings .CC tv ensures full security. Residents are required to be in the hostel by 10.00 pm on all weekdays (unless there is a professional or other commitment. This needs to be conveyed in advance in writing) Weekends the timining is by 12.00 am

Cleanliness and laundry facilities

Cleanliness of common areas is done by professional cleaners. Individual wash rooms are cleaned in the presence of the resident. Residents are expected to clean their rooms themselves. 

Laundry services are available. one load is Rs 50/- Residents have to supply their own detergent.

 Payments

All the rooms have electricity meters. Monthly charges are to be paid as per the units consumed along with the room rent and messing charges. All dues are to be paid before the 10th of every month by cash alone.

Residents have to provide their own wifi.
